About Donna...
Donna grew up on
the mission field in Zimbabwe, Africa. Her parents, Dan and
Esther Burris, always instilled within their kids that they
had an important role to play as missionaries themselves.
Thus began an early awareness of ministry and other's need
and serving as unto the Lord.
Donna returned to the United States to finish high school,
then four years later, graduated from Puget Sound Christian
College as valedictorian of the class of 1982.
Donna has worked for 20 years helping nonprofit
organizations.
Right out of college, Donna started working at Seattle
Pacific University, receipting gifts and writing thank you
notes to donors. She began to observe the reasons why people give, the blessing that comes to a generous heart and the
difference a simple thank you from an organization can make
for the donor.
Added years of experience with a wide cross-section of
charitable organizations brought the realization that the
field of Development is not about asking for money, it is
about the ministry of growing giver’s hearts.
This perspective on the ministry of stewardship is what
Donna tries to impart to her clients. Along with basic
Development fundamentals, Donna has the added gift of
artistry with graphics design and photography. With this
skill set combination, Donna is uniquely qualified to help
organizations resonate compassion with those who could
partner with them in ministry.
Donna met the love of her life and married Dr. Steven
Stroop, a gentle and Godly man, who is making a difference
for the world in the field of biochemistry.
